Home mini

My Google home mini won’t connect, it gets as far as connecting to the Wi-Fi but then states not on same WiFi network. I’ve tried resetting it and turning wifi on/off but no luck!

Any ideas please?

If you are setting it up via your phone turn the wifi off on the phone and try setting it up via cellular.  Then when the mini gets to the wifi part just pick the wifi you want to connect to and you should be good to go.

Hey there,

78912, thanks for the help!

Jt3, that certainly hasn't been easy for you. If suggested steps above didn't help, try these steps:

  • Reboot your router and devices to refresh your connection.
  • Make sure your Google Home app is updated.
  • Check router settings. (AP isolation must be disabled and UPnP must be enabled).
  • If you're using an iOS, turn on Local network access for the Google Home app. Here's how: Privacy > Local Network > Google Home app.
  • Use a mobile hotspot to set up your devices (To isolate the issue).

Hope the steps help!

Best,

Alex

This worked! Used a different device connected to hotspot and checked the local network was switched on!
