My home speaker often does not recognizing my YouTube music premium account when i all for My Likes Playlist. Using correct about on devices. Frustrating when you are paying for the service

We're sorry to hear that you are experiencing this with your Google Nest speakers. Since you've mentioned that you already have a premium subscription, we'd like to know the exact commands that you have tried as well as its exact response whenever you try to command it to play music.

 

Have you also tried saying, "Ok Google, play music from my library on YouTube Music"? Let's go ahead and try that first to see if this would make any changes.

The problem is intermittent. When the UK voice replies to my command ìt world great. Sometimes a US voice is used to reply to my command and it's then it doesn't work. The us choices days, " It looks like my likes playlist is only available through a subscription but here is a similar playlist". I them again and the UK voice places the playlist I want. Thanks

The US voice says, " It looks like "My likes" playlist is only available through a subscription but here is a similar playlist". I then ask again and the UK voice plays the playlist I want. I am living in Ireland. Thanks

Chiming in. To confirm, are you in the country where your Spotify premium account was activated? Do you have the same issue when using the Google Assistant app on your phone? Also, what is the language set on your phone, and speaker?

Hi, It's YouTube premium I have and yes it's all set up as Ireland being my home country/country of activation. On my pixel 5, I never get the US voice, it only happens on my Google home speaker. It could take anywhere cotton 1 to 10 requests of the speaker before I get the UK voice assistant.

My apologies for that. To confirm, did you set up a multiple assistant language on your device? If yes, could you try removing the other language and leave it to EN_UK.

No i didn't set up multi language, didn't know that was possible. Just in case that is the reason, how do you deactivate one?

Please follow the steps below or visit this link to check the languages set on your device.

 

  1. On your mobile device, open the Google Home app .
  2. At the top right, tap your account and then Assistant settings Languages.
  3. Tap your current language choose a new language.

Hi no it's still not working, The US voice still saying "It looks like your likes is only available with a premium subscription". All my settings seems to be correct, location Ireland etc. Only happens with this speaker not my phone. Very frustrating.

Thanks for the update! Is there anyone in your house that has a YouTube premium account as well? If yes, can we have them link their account then see if they will have the same issue. You can invite them on the Google Home app and set their YouTube Music account as their default music service. Follow the steps below or visit this link for more steps:

 

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Switch to the home you want to share.
  3. At the top, tap Add > Invite home member > Invite person.
    • If you don't find "Invite home member," tap Add person to home.
  4. Enter the name or email address of the person you want to invite to your home > tap Next.
  5. Review what’s shared when you add someone to your home > tap Next.
  6. Review the person’s access to your home > tap Send.
  7. If your Google Family Group isn’t full and the person you’re inviting isn’t already in one, you should get the option to invite them to your Google Family Group.
    • To invite them, tap Add to Family.
    • To skip this step, tap No Thanks.
    • Note: You can have up to 6 members in a Google Family Group.

Hi Muddi,

I am they only one in the household work a YouTube account/premium account. Can't seem to resolve the issue with the home speaker no matter what advise I get or I have tried. Pointless paying for a sub each month of i can't listen, looks like it's a Google competitor is my only option at this point.
