I am trying to help a relative setup his Google Nest hub but he doesn't have a smartphone. Is this possible?

Hey Colan,
Excellent question! You will need a smartphone to set up the Google Nest Hub, but afterwards you can interact with it using just your voice. Your relative can use most of its features, including asking it questions, playing games, playing music, adjusting volume, and much more without needing a phone. The only time that your relative needs to access the Google Home app on a smartphone is he/she wants to change some of the settings on the device. We're always updating our app to allow more options, and new voice control features may come soon.
Here's a link that will be helpful to you: Set up your Google Nest or Home speaker or display
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Muddi

Could you also use a Chromebook? Also Google Meet be enabled on the Google Nest Hub without having a smartphone?

Hi Enz,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.
Cool question! Setting up Google Nest Hub is not yet supported for Chromebook. You can check this helpful article for the requirements. For Google Meet feature, for now, video meetings are not available on Nest Hub, Nest Hub (2nd gen), Lenovo Smart Display 7, or smart clock displays. Zoom meetings are only available on Nest Hub Max. Here is a helpful link to get more information about it.
I hope this answered your inquiry.
Thanks,
Juni
