How do I set up my Nest Hub 5731 to a new WiFi? It can't find the network.

I get the following error: couldn't connect to Nest Hub. Make sure local area network access is enabled for the Home app in your phone's privacy settings.

Thanks for reaching out. I am sorry to hear that your Google Nest Hub set up process is not going smoothly. I love using my Google Nest Hub, so I understand how important it is for you to get your device working! I would be more than happy to help. First, I have some questions.

  • Which Google Nest Hub is this post in regard to? (model name, generation number)
  • Is your Google Nest Hub powering on?
  • Is your Google Nest Hub showing up in the Google Home App?
  • What kind of WiFi are you trying to connect to? A one step password only WiFi or a two step WiFi?
  • Have you tried connecting your Google Nest Hub to a mobile hotspot instead? What happens?
  • Have you taken any troubleshooting steps? If so, what have you tried?
