Hub Max Camera: There was a problem communicating with Google

Since new version of Home app Ive had quite a few problems.  I was having problems with only one speaker working on speaker group.  I think that may have been sorted.  Ive reset the speakers and router so many times i cant remember.   Just when I think im sorted I tried setting up the Hub max camera but get error ' There was a problem communicating with Google'!   Ive reset it and the router a million more times but no luck.

I did manage to get it working by creating a new home however it refuses to show in my Nest app which I have other cameras showing.  I want it there so I can scroll through 24/7 video.   I tried changing its Home back to original but another error, something about cant contact Google.  I have reset this Hub Max a few times over the years and never had an issue.  I love Google products but man do they know how to test how committed we are by not making anything simple.

the same thing is happening with my cameras.. "no communication with Google" I've factory reset the cameras, made a new Home and reset my modem .. still not working. It's ever since the Google Home did an update, devices are now not working properly.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing this on your Google Nest speakers. Since you've mentioned that you noticed these changes after the update, could you please provide the cast firmware version of your Google Nest Hub Max.

To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  4. At the top right, tap Settings and then Device information.
  5. Under "Technical information," find Cast firmware: X.XXX.XXXXX.

Looking forward to your responses.

Best,

Princess

Hi Princesss.    I have the following....

Firmware: 10.20221207.2.120

Software: 51.0.24.51364288

I have tried resetting my router various times and reset the hub more times than I can remember.  I had 2 Google accounts linked however I now only have 1 as I have reinstalled Home App.   I can setup the Hub fine, the problem is when I try to set up the nest cam.  It work when I tried creating a different home but then it wouldn’t link to my Nest App meaning I didn’t get 24/7 video which I want.

Thanks
