I had an issue where my hub max constantly said camera is not available.
After trying everything else I tried a factory reset (first removing device from my account).
Now during the setup process hub is stuck in an update boot loop ( update goes from 0-100, device reboots and repeats constantly)

UPDATE:
I now have device setup after leaving disconnected from mains for 20 mins, but I am now left with my original issue, camera is disconnected

I have the same symptoms. Have you resolved it?

Managed to get through to Google support. After running through everything I'd done again with them, it is being sent back and replaced.
