Increase sounds delay correction for paired Bluetooth speakers

kittermant
Community Member

There is at least a full 2 second delay between sound on the Google speaker group and my other Bluetooth speakers, Bose, Vizio, LG.

Please increase the correction time to go up to 3 seconds or so.

Seems silly to cap it at 400ms.

Hi there,

Thanks for responding.

Since this involves delay when using Bluetooth, have you already tried to disconnect the Bluetooth connection and reconnect it? Let's also try to perform a complete reset and see if this would change its behavior.

Princess

Actually I had to restart all devices in that room and for some reason that fixed the issue

It's good to know that it's already working. Please keep on monitoring its behavior as I will keep this thread open for the next 3 days to make sure that it is working as intended.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for posting.

@Cathal_S, I appreciate your help on answering this thread.

@kittermant, could you please tell us what Google Home/Nest speakers are you using to that speaker group? I'd love to know more details so we can further check.

Best,

Princess

Using a nest audio (system firmware 299498 / cast firmware 1.56.299498) and a brand new top of the line vizio sound sound system (M512a-H6).

The soundbar also has a time delay correction and I have that one turned all the way up as well. Still not nearly enough delay correction.

Hi kittermant,

Thanks for responding.

Speaker delays vary between different models.

The following are typical numbers for specific categories:

  • Speakers: 0-40 ms - typically no delay
  • Soundbars: 0-80 ms - inherent delays are common
  • Receivers: 0-70 ms - inherent delays are common

Note: The above numbers provide some common values. Some models' delays may be outside of the typical range.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Princess

I do. That didn't help. I still need a solution to fix the sound delay.
