Is it just us or has Nest Max gotten worse about hearing commands?

I am really tired of my Nest Hub Max not hearing me, I have been standing directly in front of it and it doesn't hear. I have to yell AND use a weird robot intonation to get it to hear me. But at the same time something will play on the TV 4 feet away that isn't even words and it will respond. This has been getting worse and worse, and my husband who it has always worked better for is also finding that it has recently stopped responding quite frequently.

It's still behaving the same. I stand there and scream at it and it doesn't regularly hear me. And now its started ignoring what I say to do its own thing - specifically, I ask it to "set an 8 minute timer called tea" it hears what I say and I even see it write out "set an 8 minute timer" and then it changes it to "set a 2 minute timer called tea." I actually see it change 8 minute, which is what I said, to it writing out 2 minute and doing that. This isn't even the first time It'd done this (decide I said something other than what it heard), but its the first time it's consistently done it. It'd make more sense if it were "correcting the time" to 4 or 5 minutes, which is what I was previously brewing my tea for regularly, but I haven't previously used a 2 minute timer so I have no idea why its trying to be smart in that way.

I just asked it a question, it heard "how much are budgies" and responded by telling me the time left on my timer that is called chicken. The question I asked had nothing to do with budgies.

A few questions later it says it can't help because it doesn't recognize my voice.
