Is there any hope of connecting other speaker devices like Set-top-boxes (with Chromecast built in)?

Im quite frustrated, I wish to use Home to manage my music, and I have multiple Nest speakers. I also have a nice surround sound system connected to my TV that I would love to be able to play synchronized with the Nest speakers and displays. I have an STB that is a Chromecast device, but I am unable to add it to a speaker group. Now I realize this is likely due to the lack of ability to do proper QA and to ensure the UX of the Nest system as a whole, however, I would like the control to test and figure things out myself.

Does anyone know of a workaround?

If a Google PM or engineer reads this: Please show me the devices that are detected and give me a prompt on why I am unable to add it, the lack of info in Home atm is super annoying (the beta is better, but still a vacuum on a lot of info). Alternatively, ask the user during setup what type of user they are and give more or less control over the devices and/or set up on the user's premises.

Hey Nudo1985,

 

Perfect question! Currently, speakers with Chromecast built in and selected TVs are the devices that you can group with your Google Home/Nest devices. I know how great it is to be able to group your set top boxes with your Google speakers.

A bit embarrassingly I didn't even know about the feedback feature so that's nice to know. I'll definitely use that. Really hope my feedback helps. 

 

Still, if anyone knows of workarounds to tide me over until a permanent fix is created  I would love some tips 🙂
