I have a bunch of devices all hooked up to the Google Home app in one way or another through the Google Nest and the Google Home app on my phone.
I have a bunch of automations that are all working through the Tuya app, Smart Things app and the Smart Life app as well as through the Google Home app.
There has always been an issue with the thermostats (I have 3 types, 5 in total) and the Google Home app, while they can display (once you click in the device) their temp, and if asked Google will tell me the temperature (plus what the thermostat is set to, even though that's not a thing on these), I can never get the temperature to show up while creating any of the automations within the Google Home app.
This seems to be a quite well documented thing going back a few years from my reading here and on reddit.
I have tried reconnecting the connections to Google Home, removing and adding again them to the Tuya and Smart Life apps, factory resetting the thermostats individual and re-adding them and a few other recommendations (eg: clearing cache on apps) I've read here and other places.
Up until now it's not been an issue, I've found work arounds but right now I am trying to hook up a broadcast based off the temperature in certain rooms at certain times (I have my reasons) within the house, plus I'd like to have one based on the outside temperature in the mornings but the Google Home app won't co-operative.
Is there any solution to this? I don't want to start resorting to Home Assistant, it's way overkill for what we need and I don't need the hassle
