I like the google home products in my house, despite its flaws. Nearly every room has a google home speaker because I don't like to scream from a distance.
I do encounter some very annoying mechanics in the device that, I think, could be very easily resolved. Main rule is, if a message is repeated too often while the recipient is already aware, it's just nagging, and everybody hates that.
Situation 1:
One of the lights is offline or unreachable for some reason. I havent got around to fixing the issue. Yet every time I ask to "Turn on the lights" It keeps giving me the error "the **** light is unavailable, you might want to set it up again." Guess what, by the 40 time telling me, I kinda know and its just begin annoying.
Solution:
Make a maintenance report feature. Notify me twice that the light is unavailable, then just put it on the maintenance list and stop notifying me. If I ask why a light is not turning on, notify me that its on my maintenance list. Once the problem is resolved, remove it off the Maintenance list automatically or allow the user to tick it off as done.
Situation 2:
One of the devices has some kind of delay somewhere, that cant be fixed, but the device works properly. Yet because of the delay issue or whatever it notices, it triggers google to tell me that there is a problem. (when there is not.) The repeating message that there is something wrong when there is not, it ruining the experience and is super annoying.
Solution:
Create an "ignore errors" feature on every separate device in google home. If google notices an error on a device and the "ignore errors" feature it turned on, it will not give any error feedback for that specific device. Problem solved, because there is no problem.

Well, I haven’t see any changes in the google home speakers in the past years. I am sure people sending feedback and giving idea’s like I do, but nothing really changes.

Yes I did see Muddi’s post. Unfortunately “double triggers” and “false errors” keep happening. Like I mentioned I have seen any changes to google assistent, ever.
Eventhough my ideas will easily solve these issues and annoyances for loads of people with google assistent and the google speakers, I doubt anything will result in actual changes or improvements. (Which is really sad because it could be way better then it is now) with all due respect, the replies here are just run of the mill diplomatic bureaucratic scripted answers without any substance.
but it’s fine, I know how large companies work. Being I worked for some of them.
