My speaker just informed my that live translation mode is going away on May 5th.

My wife and I speak different languages, and use this feature every day.

What alternatives can anyone suggest.

I'm sad about this feature as I use it everyday with my friend from Brazil on What's App.  I hope to find a decent alternative.  Alexa has a translation feature but it's awful.

Subject: Please Restore Interpreter Mode on Nest Hub Max

I was very disappointed to see that Interpreter Mode was removed from the Nest Hub Max. This feature was one of the main reasons I purchased four of these devices—not just for home use, but to support communication at our bed and breakfast.

Interpreter Mode allowed our English-speaking customers to communicate effortlessly with my Spanish-speaking mother-in-law, who is often the only person on site. It helped bridge a language gap that would otherwise create confusion or missed opportunities to deliver great hospitality. It also allowed our family to communicate more easily at home when others weren’t around to interpret.

There’s currently no alternative that works as smoothly or as intuitively. Losing it makes the Nest Hub Max far less useful—not just as a convenience device, but as a real-world communication tool.

Please reconsider bringing Interpreter Mode back—or at least provide a clear explanation as to why it was removed and whether there are plans to reintroduce it.

Thank you,
Walter Blasberg

Interpreture mode is the main purpose that I use the Google home device. I have had my device for several years. I've now unplugged it and store it in a drawer. I feel that restoring the Interpret mode will fall upon deaf ears. In the past I've communicated with the world with ease and confidence thanks to Google home. Now the device in stored in a drawer.

When I tried to use Interpreter Mode, Google Assistant only gave my search results about Interpreter Mode instead of activating interpreter Mode. (I was using the mic icon in the search bar). I found this thread that said it been deactivated.  However, I knew the guy at the front desk of my hotel in Spain was using it.  Though he had a different model of Android, he was able to figure out if you push and hold the power button on my Google Pixel 9 Pro, it will activate a  different form of Google Assistant that will respond to the command of "Hey Google, be my Spanish interpreter."  Interpreter Mode is now working on my phone.
