Local Network Issue

Hi guys, I have a Google home mini 1st gen and I can’t connect it at all. I’ve searched and tried many different fixes for a few hours now and still nothing. 

Always - “Scott speaker may be set up, but we could not communicate with it from your iPhone. Make sure that you have enabled local network access in your iPhone’s privacy settings. Then try again.”

Any ideas?
