Log into google through the google home app

joanna1014

For some reason back in July my Nest Hub stopped allowing me to use it and keeps telling me to log into google through my google home app.  I am logged in through the app.  I have tired a factory reset and it still does not work.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Jo

Hey joanna1014,

That certainly hasn't been easy for you — let's see what's going on.

A few questions:

  • How frequently does the device unlink (daily, weekly, etc.)
  • Confirm if you have experienced Wi-Fi issues in your home to rule out a Wi-Fi problem.
  • What's the exact message you are getting on your Google Nest Hub when it's not working?
  • Are you using a private network? If so, do you have a dual-band router?

Give these steps a try:

  • Uninstall and reinstall your Google Home app.
  • Turn on Local network access for the Google Home app. Here's how: Privacy > Local Network > Google Home app.
  • Check router settings. (AP isolation must be disabled and UPnP must be enabled).
  • Toggle the Wi-Fi off/on.
  • Try resetting your Nest Hub again.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Alex
