Mini Bluetooth

I'm trying to connect some Bluetooth speakers to my Mini using the Default audio option. The speakers need a password but there's no option to enter one in Google Home so the connection fails. How do I enter the password?

Hello Pendy2000,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

By default, connecting speakers or headphones to Google Nest speakers doesn't require any passwords. Could you tell us where do you see that prompt upon trying to connect to Bluetooth? Does it show on the Home app? Lastly, could you share us a photo of the exact display of the Home so we can check on it further?

You may also try saying, "OK Google, connect to Bluetooth". Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Princess

Hi Princess. I can connect my freestanding Bluetooth speaker to my mini with no problem, because it doesn't have a password. The ceiling speakers do require a password, and although my Mini would find them during the scan they would not pair. My Pixel 6a paired okay after putting the password in the popup on the phone. That's why I think the Mini should display a password popup if the Bluetooth item requires one.

Hello Pendy2000,

Just to add, connecting a Bluetooth speaker that requires codes is not compatible on any of our Google Home and Nest speakers or displays. You might want to check with the speaker manufacturer if there's a way to bypass the password for pairing to be able to connect to your speaker.

We're always looking for ways to improve — we'll take this as feedback. You can also send feedback using your device by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback." Visit our help center for more steps.
