Mini starting volume

Starting volume of the radio station on the mini for the 'Good Morning' routine is too loud.  

Is there a way to specify the starting volume?

Volume of the Google Assistant is just the same with the volume set on the device. Did you try to adjust its volume to somehow compare its volume when responding and playing a content like music, radio or news?

The assistant volume, responding to 'Good Morning', is at an acceptable level giving time, weather planned activities but when it switches to the radio station it is very loud.

If you're referring to lowering the volume of videos and music when using the Google Assistant, here's what you need to do:

 

  1. Make sure that the mobile device is linked to the same account as the Google Nest or Home device.
  2. Open the Google Home app .
  3. In Home View and then tap the device card for the speaker or display to adjust the volume for.
  4. At the top-right, tap Settings and then Audio and then.
  5. Tap the checkbox or slide the slider off Off to toggle Lower volume when listening.

I must have stated my problem incorrectly. Controlling the volume is not a problem.

I use the 'Good Morning' routine and the last thing the routine does is start playing a radio station.

The problem is when the radio starts the volume is very loud. I'm asking how to preset that starting volume so it doesn't wake everyone else in the house.  I can, and do, request lowering of the volume after it starts.  There should be a way to preset the starting volume?

Thanks for the detailed info. 

 

If the radio starts out loud, please check if the volume of your Google Home Mini is in max volume. Make sure that before you start any action or ask it anything, volume should be between 30%-60%. Otherwise, if it still giving you the weird max volume, I would suggest to try deleting the existing routine and recreate it so we can compare its behavior.

Sorry, got side tracked.

Deleted the radio portion from the Good Morning Routine then added it back.

Still started very loud.

Thanks for the update. To confirm, do you have the same issue when you ask your speaker to play the radio via voice command? Is it happening on a specific radio station only? Does the same issue happen when you add music to a routine? Also, does it remain on the same volume the entire time, or it just start out loud then normalize the volume?

The issue is with the radio added to the "Good Morning" routine. Starts loud and stays loud till I tap in down.  Haven't tried adding a different station to the routine. I'll try the routine with a different station.

No issue asking to play radio via voice command.

When I changed the station on the routine, the station did not start loud.

When I changed the station back to the original problem station it also did not start loud.

Don't know what corrected it but my problem is solved.
