Missing Speakers In Group Casting

This used to work very reliably about 5 years ago, then went hit or miss, and now has not worked in about the last year. This is the last option before I start investing in another platform and selling off my google hardware.

I have 20-ish castable devices, some displays, some minis, some cast compliant speakers, chromecasts in all tv's, etc. I used to be able to pick any subset and make a group and cast audio.

Then something changed and I could not group any of my Sony speakers (LDAC high res nice speakers) with any non Sony speakers in the grouping app. 

Now not even the sony speakers show up as able to be grouped. I can cast to any one individually, but I cannot select the group as they just don't show up. I can open Pandora and cast to any one individually, and some of my OLD groupings still show up, but those dont work, and I am unable to create any new groups with certain speakers.

Specifically the Dining Room, Living Room, and Master Bedroom Speakers in the screenshots below. 

I have a Synology wifi system, All speakers are on 5 GHz network (I have alternated them between 2.4 and 5 with no changes) 

Is there a way to be able to get my groups back?

In the first screen shot, that is not a full list of all castable equipment, there are 4-5 others showing up.

In the second screen shot, that is the full list of groupable speakers. Notice there is only one mini, not all 3 that i have in my home.

In the third screenshot, I did not show the multiple screens of all devices, but I can confirm all individual devices show there and are able to be casted individually. 

I just need groups to work or I have to move to something different.

My apologies for the delayed response. Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. I know how challenging it is when you're having issues playing music on an audio group. To confirm, are you able to create a group with just Google speakers or displays? What is the firmware version of your non-Google speakers? Also, could you tell us the troubleshooting steps that you've tried?

I have noticed the same issues with my speaker groups, they used to work reliable, but now I sometimes not even see them on the list when trying to cast audio.   In addition, I started to notice out of sync issues among the group speaker members.  I have not added new speakers or groups in years, so I am sure the change was not on my end.  @brdhmltn what other options have you explore to switch away from Google?
