Missing devices in Display.

MrWJCA

Hey All,

I have maybe a weird question but couldn't find a real answer, yet.

In the Google app on my phone, I have many devices in many rooms, like switches, security cams, lights, heaters/fans etc.

I also have Nest Hub's (Google display, we have multiple in bedrooms and living room).

Now in my Nest Hub(''s) I see for example only the Nest Thermostat, but not my other heating devices.

I have some standalone heaters, as said I can see them in the Google Home app, but I can't see them in the Nest Hub.

Same problem I have with for example my arlo security cameras, the front door I can see but my back garden not.

I don't understand this, can and if how can I change this?

Thx I advance

Willem

Hi MrWJCA,

Thanks for posting here in the Community. I am sorry that you are experiencing issues when using your third party devices on your Google Nest Hub. But no need to worry, help is here.

Basic Checks:

Nest Hub Settings:

  1. Device Visibility: Verify that the Nest Hubs are set to display all devices in the Google Home app. Check the settings on each Nest Hub.

Device Compatibility:

  1. Third-Party Devices: Ensure your standalone heaters are compatible with Google Assistant and the Google Home app. Some devices might have limitations and may not show in your display even if paired to the Google Home App or Account.

Network Connectivity:

  1. Wi-Fi Signal: Ensure all devices are connected to a strong Wi-Fi network.
  2. Router Restart: Restart your router to refresh the network connection.

Manufacturer Support:

If none of the above solutions work, contacting the maker support is recommended. They can provide more specific troubleshooting steps based on your device model and any error codes you might be encountering. Note: In most cases, home control devices (lights, thermostats, sensors, plugs, or switches) bought in the US are not supported in other countries, and vice versa. Please explore the Google Assistant actions, so you can control devices around their home with just their voice. Keep in mind that some devices will only work with Voice Commands.

You can also check the following articles to check the Services and smart devices that work with Google Assistant, to Control smart home devices with Google Assistant and to Stream your security camera using your Google Nest display.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Best,

Mario
