More than 6 family members

Community Member

I have more than 6 family members. I need them all to have access to our Google Home, which includes Chrome Casts, Nests, Speakers, Hubs...and looking to add cameras etc. However, if my entire family cannot have access, what is the point? I can't tell 1 of my kids, sorry, you don't get the cool stuff.  What even is that? What is the work around? If I want to broadcast to every device or just pick one household member. It's already that 1 of my kids doesn't have access to the door so I had to give him a guest number, which doesn't help when he is home alone and needs to know the door opened. Please advise or I'm going to have to look elsewhere......which I realize in the grand scheme you could careless and I'm the only one that loses $$$$.

Hi KJ35,

Thanks for reaching out. Anyone who joins your local Wi-Fi network gets an option in the Google Home app to join the home. This action doesn’t give the person access to your devices, but it sends a request to the current home members. The current home members can approve or deny that request. You can't invite anyone using a:

  • Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) account
  • Google Account for children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country)

Check out this article for more information.

I hope this helps.
