Music problem on google nest mini

Preena

When I tell my nest mini or google home mini to play a song on Spotify (I have premium) or on Apple Music (I have the subscription) it says ok playing ______ on Apple Music or on Spotify and then a second later it says sorry something went wrong, when your ready give it another try. And I have tried resetting it multiple times, I have waited multiple months for it to fix itself through an update or something and I have tried linking and unlinking the music provider accounts. I have also checked my location and nothing works. It only works if I pair my phone or if I tell it to play the radio.

You're not alone. This problem, and many others, won't be fixed until Google agrees to pay Sonos for infringing on their patents, as was recently ordered by a court decision in Sonos' favor. Either hang on until something further happens in that case, or return them. Google could fix the problems instantly by re-rolling out the version 1.56.264660 firmware release that they were forced to withdraw a couple of months ago due to the court decision. In the meantime, we are stuck with the buggy and nearly useless version 1.54.277099 firmware.

If you're still having trouble with your Nest speakers, please give these steps a try:

  1. Reboot your speakers.
  2. Reboot your router
  3. Make sure your devices are within 15-20 feet of your router.
  4. Factory Reset your Google Home

If the issue persists, feel free to submit another post and provide as many details as possible so that others can lend a hand. Hope this helps!

Best,
Alex
