My Google Smart Speaker thinks it has time traveled back to 1970

I cannot schedule events as my speaker keeps saying it thinks it is 1970! Also, not just me...this is for the Google admins who will attempt to close this post before it is resolved:

Hello KyleB,

 

Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. I know how strange it is when your Google Home Mini is setting up events for a later year. Let's try to get to the bottom of this.

 

  • When did the issue start?
  • Does the same thing happen when you use the Google Assistant app on your phone?
  • Does it happen on all devices?
  • Do you get the right answer when you ask your speaker about the date today?
  • What is the current firmware version of your Home Mini?

 

Let's go ahead and reboot your Google Home Mini and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.

 

If it's still the same, please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Home Mini). Once done, check if your device will have the same behavior.
