My Nest Audio and Nest Mini keep answering me in German.

My Nest Audio and Nest Mini keep answering in German. English is my only set-up language. Strange thing is that when I check the transcripts, it actually understood I was speaking in English. It understood my request, but still answered in German, saying it didn't understand what I asked for.

Did factory reset several times and both of thrm continue speaking in German. I am already super frustrated, to the point that I consider switching to Alexa. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hi the_baker,

This is not the experience we wanted you to have, let me help you. A few things: which country are you in? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? Is it happening on all voice commands? Whey you said a factory reset, was it the same steps as what you see in this link

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes tops.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

Once done, change the primary and secondary language to English:

  1. On mobile, open the Google Home app.
  2. At the top right, tap your account > Assistant settings > Languages > Add a language.
  3. Choose the English language.

Tell me how it goes.

Best,

Dan
