My nest hub will not boot up stuck on G

My device is stuck on the G screen, will not boot up.

 

I’ve done the factory reset by holding the volume buttons and plugging it in. It says it’s doing a factory reset and when it restarts is stops at the G screen, rinse and repeat.

How do we get past this? Is it just a Google systemic issue with this generation? If so is Google offering free replacements for defective devices?

welcome to the junk pile that is google hubs.  my hub max has a blurred screen and google told me to just buy a new one. i have $20 tablets that have nicer and more reliable screens.  good luck!

Hey folks,

 

That's not the experience we want you to have. could you give recovery mode a try:

 

  1. Unplug the power cord.
  2. Hold down the volume buttons and plug in the power cord at the same time.
  3. Wait for the device to turn on.
  4. Release the volume buttons.
  5. Once the device is in recovery mode, attempt an FDR.

If the issue persists, please tell us when and where did you purchase your Google Nest Hub.

As mentioned in my original post I have already tried all the things you suggested before posting here without success.

I am unsure when the device was purchased as its not mine, posting for a family member.

I do know it was purchased for one of my nieces for his birthday and she says it only worked for one week before staying stuck on the G screen. At minimum the device was bought over 7 months ago, possibly up to a year ago.

Unfortunately nothing was offered that hasn’t been done before turning to the community post, so the device is still stuck on the G screen.
