I have a Speaker Pair of two Nest Audio speakers. I want to use them as the default speakers for my Nvidia Shield, which is connected to a dumb projector with lousy speakers. I am able to set the Speaker Pair as the default Audio Output for the Shield, and when it first starts up it works fine. However, if I switch from one show / movie to another, the R speaker stops working.
I tried swapping the L and R speaker in case there was a hardware glitch, but the same thing happens - the R speaker stops working if I switch what I am watching.
In order to fix this, I need to restart the Shield or restart the speakers, which is somewhat inconvenient every time you want to change channels.
They work great to play music in stereo ("Hey Google play Hey Jude") using Spotify/Tunein etc., but they were purchased primarily to be stereo speakers to watch TV.
Any suggestions?

I have the same problem but with the chrome cast ultra/ google Tv so I don't think its anything specific to your shield.

Same issue here - Nest Audio Speaker Pair - R speaker disconnects! I'm noting a lot of instability in this configuration casting with both PC and Google TV. So at this point, we can confirm that there is anything specific with the media source. The issue seems more related to the poor testing/reliability of this configuration. Hope google will jump in soon to fix the issue!
