Nest Audio dead -- 4 of 12 devices out of warranty now dead

Okay, so I'm a Nest fan.  Nest across the board.  Literally dozens of devices.  I went all in on Nest Audio, loving the multi room play and speaker groups, as well as the sound quality.

However, the hardware quality leaves serious room for improvement.

Today, I've just experienced the 4th of 12 Nest Audio devices just "die".  Won't power on.  And, of course, it's out of warranty.  Just like the other 3.  Tried all the things.  No need to troubleshoot.  Tried different outlets.  Tried different wall plug ac adapters.  Tried different houses.  Left it unplugged overnight.  It's dead.  And Google isn't going to take a support call or replace it.

I'm just posting here, as there's a pattern developing.  These speakers are good for about 18-24 months, and then they just croak.

 

That's pretty unacceptable.  Especially for the quality that I hope to see from Google, and as a former Google product manager myself.

I will be replacing this speaker, but I'm *definitely* not replacing it with a Nest Audio, and very unlikely to replace it with a Google device of any kind until this issue is root caused and addressed.
