Nest Audio keeps saying that it's turning off the TV

So I have a television attached to my Google home in my living room, and I have a speaker attached there, too. When I tell the speaker to turn off the TV, it does it quickly. But for some reason it will then continue to say that it's doing it but say it slightly different, for example it will say "sure turning the TV off", and then it will say "got it turning off the TV". It does this anywhere from 8 to 12 times and it's absolutely infuriating, haha.

What is going on here?

This is not the experience we want you to have, let me help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers and TV are we working with? Does your TV have a built-in 


Google Assistant, Chromecast, or a Chromecast dongle? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made?


It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first: 


  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers, then your TV.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.
