Nest Audio setup stops at Something Went Wrong... Privacy Settings?

HLab25

After factory reset have attempted numerous(!) times to setup Nest Audio device... completed the connection  "dance" process between wifi and local up to the message: "Living room speaker [my device] may be set up, but we could not communicate with it from your iphone  ...make sure that you have enabled local network [IOS]..."  At iphone Privacy Settings confirmed the option is on... btw: My wifi device is an EERO 6 plus... I've tried EERO in regular and legacy modes... my wifi device before recent install of EERO device worked with Nest audio... I have several other Nest devices set up... is there something unique with EERO and Nest Audio device? ... appreciate your guidance...thanks

There are a variety of reasons you might get the "could not communicate" error. I'd recommend trying the steps below.

Hello everyone,

Thanks for providing troubleshooting here, @David_K.

@HLab25, I want to check if you've tried the troubleshooting steps in the link above. If that did not resolve your issue, please configure the following settings before going through another setup process:

  1. Disable VPN.
    1. Go to iPhone's Settings.
    2. Select General.
    3. Select VPN and Device Management, then if connected, disable VPN.
  2. Disable Private Relay.
    1. On your iPhone, go to Settings.
    2. Select your name.
    3. Tap iCloud.
    4. Select Private Relay, then touch the slider to turn it off.
  3. Turn on Local Network.
    1. Go to your iPhone's Settings.
    2. Select Bluetooth and make sure it's enabled.
    3. Go back to the device's Settings.
    4. Tap Privacy Local Network.
    5. Toggle Google Home on.

Keep me posted.

Best,
Lovely
