Nest Audio speakers -- stereo pair -- 2 white lights remain on

On an iMac

If I turn off the speakers vocally, all seems okay.

But if I adjust the sound, and then stop the music by tapping on the speaker, 2 white lights on the left speaker remain on.

I have to unplug that speaker for it to start up again--and the 2 white lights are gone.

Is there a more permanent fix for this nuisance?

Apologize for the delayed response. To confirm, does the same thing happen when you control the paired devices on the Google Home app? When did you notice it? Is continued conversation enabled on the Google Home app? Also, could you share a video showing the issue, so we can check what's going on with your device?
