Nest Hub Camera Streaming Issues

I use two Nest Hub (2nd Gen) and one Nest Hub Max (1st Gen) along with two wired indoor Nest Cams as a baby monitors. I’ve been using this system for over a year and a half and just got a second camera for a baby due in two weeks.  I have streaming issues several times a week. However, more recently the issues have become worse and more frequent. The last several nights my older camera will not stream at all on the nest hub (works just fine on the iOS Google Home app).

This issue is that the camera will lose connection or just go black on the hub and never resume, sometimes going back to the photo gallery/clock home screen. Reboots and unplugging used to work but now it doesn’t seem like anything will make it work. If it works, it pops back and forth between streaming and a black screen. Overall it has become nearly unusable and completely untrustworthy.

Additionally, there was a multi-tasking feature where I could stream a camera and listen to music or a podcast. That no longer works on any of my Google Hubs.

Is there a fix for this in the works? If not I’ll have to get a new system.

Anyone able to help me out? I’ve invested a few hundred dollars for this system to not work.

I’ve tried all the things, unplugging everything (including router), saying “Okay Google sync my devices”. I’ve reporting streaming drops. I’ve researched and found dozens of others with the same problems. Literally all three of my Nest Hubs (2x second gen and 1 hub Max) do not stream my camera. This is unacceptable for a massive tech company to avoid this massive problem for so long. Prioritize the development of a fix so our security cameras can actually work.

Hi Jbloom014,

Thanks for reaching out. I apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing. We'll work together to identify the cause of the problem and find a solution. You can try to do a factory reset on one of your Google Nest Hubs. This erases all your personalized settings and restores the factory default settings. It won’t automatically reconnect to WI-Fi, and you’ll need to set it up again. Check out the article below to know more about it.

Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays

I’ve done that multiple times and if it works, it is only temporary.

Juni, I’ve read that a bunch of other people are having these problems. It must be on the developers radars. Is there a fix on the roadmap?
I’m going to need to replace all this hardware if these displays cannot reliably stream Nest Cams daily within the next 2-3 months.
