Nest Hub Displays Don't Play Music/News in Speaker Groups

I have two Google Nest Hub Displays (gen 1) grouped with a bunch of other speakers in a small apartment. Until a few months ago music from Spotify or Google news would play to the group no problem but at some point the displays stopped playing sound. Sometimes they will still have the track information displayed (sometimes not) and I can still control the music though the displays (usually, although sometimes saying "next" will cue the next photo instead of next track).

I've reset them and they actually played music/news a few times before returning to the same behavior. Odd as they worked fine for nearly 2 years and both behave the same so I was thinking it must be the usual Google breaking things in updates. It's been many months now of being broken though. In general the displays seem to be worse than the speakers but I've upgraded my wifi speed and router to the latest Google Wifi Pro and that hasn't fixed the issue.

Hi, many posts here in the forum deal with this problem!
The Google developers should have known about it by now.
Nevertheless, I currently don't see that the Google developers are doing anything to fix the numerous problems with the groups.
