Nest Mini can't connect to bluetooth speaker that requires passkey

I have Bluetooth speakers embedded in my bathroom ceiling and would like to take my music and other services there. Easy right? Google says no.

Nest can't connect to a Bluetooth speaker that requires a non standard passkey.  The passkey on my Bluetooth receiver is 012345 and cannot be changed.  The Google home app is used to pair Bluetooth speakers to the nest, surely then it would be a simple matter to enter the passkey in the app on your Android device as has been the Bluetooth standard for eons.  But instead while pairing a Bluetooth speaker to the nest no prompt appears to enter a passkey and it simply gives up. I can't believe this is an oversight but is probably by design to control the user experience and the selection of favoured brands.

One thing I'm sure of however, it sucks. I miss the old Google. You used to be cool, man.

I guess I'll have to leave Google out of the bathroom.
