Hi!
I trusted Nest and connected three smart bulbs with it before going away for a month. It worked ok for 10 days but now it’s disconnected from wifi. My nest cam and echo dot are still connected fine. I need to be able to control the bulbs. Is there anyway I can connect nest mini speaker remotely or pair bulbs with echo dot remotely?
thank you

Hey HS1978,
Thanks for reaching out — let's check this out.
A few questions: were there any recent changes or updates on your network when it happened? How about power interruption? Also, does it automatically connect to your network? Try rebooting your devices and use the command "OK Google, sync my devices".
Keep us posted!
Best,
Alex

Hi Alex,
There were no changes in the network or power outages coinciding with this issue. The device does automatically reconnect with the network in case of power or network outage.
can you please let me know how to reboot it remotely? I tried the command using speaker on nest cam and echo dot, but it doesn’t work. It just says something like “[incomprehensible] connected to wifi”.
thank you for helping me!

Hey HS1978,
For the Google Nest speakers and displays, we don't have a way to remotely reboot the device. The only way to reboot the device is to unplug it from the power source.
Best,
Alex

Thank you. That's unfortunate and almost silly. So basically the whole Google home ecosystem is unreliable! They should fix it. ☺

Hi Alex,
I guess unless there is a workaround to reboot Google home mini remotely, or unpair the lights and pair them with echo dot remotely, there isn’t much that can be done. Thank you for your attention and willingness to look at this issue!

Perform a factory reset on the mini and run through the setup process again.
You won't lose the setup for your bulbs but it will allow you to connect the device to Wi-Fi again.
