Yesterday I was standing directly in front of my Google Nest Hub when I noticed the following message:
"Nest cam being viewed"
How is the device able to be accessed without my consent?
My concern is that this will happen again.
Are there any files on the device itself which can be reviewed to determine how the perpetrator is getting in?
The operating system is Fushia 16.
Thank you,
Michelle

Hi @michellesimone,
Thanks for posting and for letting me know about this situation. I'd be happy to help you with your concerns about this message.
Just to gather more information, I'd like to know if you have more family members added to your Home app.
In addition, I suggest checking the home history in the Home app. This option will show you events that happened in your home, like your Household Routines that started or Nest camera events. You can follow the next steps:
You can find more information in the next article: Home App Activity.
Let me know how it goes.
Best regards,
Jenniffer

@jenniffert , Thank you for responding to my message.
Unfortunately, the home history showed nothing in the way of someone accessing the NEST Camera.
In fact, it does not appear that camera access is being recorded in home history. The reason I know this is because I used the HOME app to view the feed coming from the camera, and then went into home history. There was no record of my having viewed the camera in the HOME HISTORY.
Yes, my husband has the HOME app installed and is able to login using his google account. At the time of the incident, I was on the phone with him, and he told me that he was not using accessing the NEST Camera.
This is very troublesome, that there isn't even a record of camera access in the HOME History. I would think for security reasons, GOOGLE would also record the credentials that were used to access the camera?
What else can be done to secure the device? Is there another means of accessing the camera besides thru the HOME app?
Thanks,
Michelle

Hi @michellesimone,
I appreciate the details you provided, and I completely understand your concern.
In this situation, I recommend the following steps:
Also, you have the option to add two-step verification for additional account security. This makes it difficult for the wrong person to access a Nest Account, even if they have the account credentials: Add 2-step verification.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
Jenniffer
