Nest hub messes up broadcast messages

( repost because my previous post here got closed because I didn't reply in time. How come I don't get notifications of replies to my posts??? edit: all notifications where turned off for some reason..)

Whenever a message is broadcasted from one nest hub device to the others, the sound on the nest hubs is played twice where the second play starts a second or so later then the first one making the whole thing inaudible. All other nest devices in my house sound clear and do not have this problem, not even when they receive a broadcast message coming from a hub.

I have power cycled the hubs several times and even did a factory reset all to no avail.

The hubs have no network issues.

This started after the fuchsia OS upgrade over half a year ago.

All my hubs and minis use the Dutch language.

The hubs are first generation.

The hubs are in the same WIFI network, in the same house but on different floors.

cast firmware version on both is 1.60.302700

Hi realjax,

Thanks for reaching out.

Sorry to hear about this experience. I appreciate all the details you've shared as well as the steps you tried. Could you please tell us how many Google Nest speakers are connected and set up on the same Wi-Fi network? Also, what is the distance of these speakers to each other?

Let's make sure that before we do the broadcast, all the speakers are linked on the same email account.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Princess

They are all linked on the same email account.  There are 6 nest speakers connected. Two hubs, three mini's and one original Google Home. Broadcasting between them works fine, except the two hubs mess up the received messages. Again.. this all started once they also started to show ( or rather TRY to show) the received message on the display as well.

Distance to each other is anywhere between 5 and 10 meters, which is the same distance they are from a wifi access point.

The last couple of days I have noticed that *sometimes* messages are not repeated.. Maybe one in 4 messages plays normal.

Hi realjax,

Thanks for responding.

We appreciate all the details you've shared and by that, we have ruled out that issue is within the 2 Nest displays. Have you tried performing a complete reset to those 2 Nest displays and see if it will change its behavior? Let's go ahead and try that and let me know how it goes.

Best,

Princess

Hi realjax,

We just want to check if you have seen our response on the previous post? Let us know if you have additional questions, otherwise we'll be locking the thread.

Princess

What makes you say 'we have ruled out that issue is within the 2 Nest displays'. I can't quite follow your (lack of?) logic.

And, if you reread my initial post you will see that a reset does not change anything.
