Ciao a tutti,
I have a Nest mini 2. Gen that is starting to give me some trouble.
Every couple of days it is resetting to starting condition and I have to run the setup again.
Any ideas to fix it?
Thanks in advance

Hi Angelo76,
Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry that you're experiencing trouble with your Nest Mini 2nd Gen; it keeps resetting. I understand how frustrating this can be. I'm here to help.
For further assistance, I just want to ask a few questions:
If your Nest Mini 2nd Gen keeps disconnecting from the Wi-Fi?
If the Nest Mini 2nd Gen also keeps disconnecting from the Google account?
If your Nest Mini 2nd Gen keeps disconnecting for both Wi-Fi and the Google account?
When did the situation start?
What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
Please keep me posted. I look forward to your response.
Regards,
Byron

Hi Angelo76,
Thank you for your response. I appreciate the detailed information.
I just want to ask some additional questions:
Are there other Nest speakers in the home?
If so, what’s the configuration of the speaker that has this situation?
Do other speakers also experience similar situations?
If not, are other speakers configured any differently or placed differently (for example, the Nest Mini is the furthest away from the main Wi-Fi access point)?
Keep me posted; I look forward to your response.
Regards,
Byron

Ciao ByronP,
I apologize for the late reply, I've been in a business trip.
Below the answers:
Are there other Nest speakers in the home? Yes I have three Nest mini
If so, what’s the configuration of the speaker that has this situation? One is in the bathroom and two are in the living room, left and right of the TV. The WiFi router is under the TV and I configured initially these two Nest minis as stereo pair. The self resetting one is the left one and after the first self reset, they are not a pair anymore. Further to this, the 3 minis are in the same group and set to play sound to the group. None of them is linked via Bluetooth with anything, I just use them with Spotify.
Do other speakers also experience similar situations? No, the other two are very reliable
If not, are other speakers configured any differently or placed differently (for example, the Nest Mini is the furthest away from the main Wi-Fi access point)? Only the bathroom one has a different location, the couple in the living room are super similar.
Hope this is helping you.
Angelo

Hi Angelo76,
Thank you for your response. I appreciate your answers. Please do the following:
Reboot the Wi-Fi router:
Unplug the Wi-Fi router from the power source for 2 minutes.
Ensure that the router's lights turn off completely when unplugged.
Note: Some routers have backup battery packs, so you need to disconnect the battery packs as well to ensure that the router is completely turned off.
After 2 minutes, plug the router back into its power source.
Once all the router lights are back on and you find the network name listed in the Wi-Fi options on your mobile device or computer, you should check if the Google Nest or Home device is now connected to the Wi-Fi network.
Also, please reboot your Nest Mini and mobile device. For the detailed steps on how to reboot your mobile device, refer to Turn your power on or off or Restart your phone.
Let me know how it goes and keep me posted.
Regards,
Byron

Done yesterday just a couple of minutes after your post.
Just to be sure, the reboot and the factory reset are having the same effect from an user point of view, correct? I had in both cases to run again through the first setup as if it was new, correct?
This morning it self factory reset again and I have been lucky to at that very moment very close to it.
At that moment everything (power, Internet connection, WiFi, etc...) was normal, fully functioning and in a very low workload period.
Let me know

Hi Angelo76,
Thank you for your response. I appreciate your effort in troubleshooting this situation. Let's explore more options.
To clarify, the reboot involves:
Unplug the power cord from your Nest Mini 2nd Gen.
Leave it unplugged for a minute, then plug the power cord back in.
However, since you mentioned that you're still experiencing the same results, the team would like to learn more about this behavior. When you get a chance, please fill out this form and let us know when you’re finished. We’ll have someone reach out to you via email from there.
Let me know once you're done and keep me posted.

Hi Byron,
I've completed the form.
On the reboot, I did the one on the home app, tomorrow I'll try the one you described as well.
