Nestmini

My router has been changed to a Zylex_1e41. When I set up the nest mini it seems to show up among devices on the router but the speaker can't connect. During setup it does connect, giving audio verification but after allocation of a location it can't complete connection. It insists the password is wrong. I appears to be a fault in the speaker software rather than the router. Inclined to dump it and move on, pity, the sound is brilliant.

Hey Mikeor,

Thanks for reaching out — let's see what's going on with your Google Nest Mini.

A few questions — is your Nest Mini within 15 to 20 feet (5 to 6 meters) away from your router? Also, are you using a private or public network?

Give these steps a try:

  • Make sure your phone is connected to the same network where you want to connect your Nest Mini.
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling your Google Home app.
  • If you're using an iOS device, make sure Local Network Access is turned on for the Google Home app and Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
  • Reboot your router and devices to refresh the connection.
  • Toggle the Wi-Fi off/on on your set up device.
  • Reset your Nest Mini.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Alex
