Hi JT70,

Thank you for contacting the community regarding your Google Nest Audio power issue! I understand your device is not turning on, and you lack an alternate power adapter to test. I am glad to assist you and appreciate your initial troubleshooting efforts.

To help us isolate the problem between the power adapter and the device itself, let's focus on the electrical outlet and connection points first:

1. Test the Electrical Outlet

  • Action: Plug a small, known-working appliance (like a phone charger or lamp) into the exact outlet your Nest Audio was using.
  • Question: Did the other device successfully receive power and turn on? (This confirms the outlet is functional.)

2. Inspect the Power Cable and Connection

  • Action: Carefully inspect the entire length of the Nest Audio power cable and connection points for any visible damage, kinks, or frays.
  • Ensure the barrel plug is fully and securely inserted into the back of the Nest Audio.
  • If possible, try a completely different wall outlet on a separate circuit in your home.
  • Question: Are there any visible signs of damage (bends, cuts, or scorch marks) on the power cord or the port on the speaker?

3. Perform a Power Discharge

  • Action: Unplug the adapter from both the wall and the Nest Audio. Leave it completely unplugged for a full minute. Then, plug it back into the Nest Audio first, and then into a known-working wall outlet.
  • Question: After the minute, does the device attempt to show any sign of life (even a quick flicker of a light)?

Please provide your answers and any additional details. I am here to assist you further.

Regards,

Humberto
