One solid light on smart speaker

jrgreenman
Community Member

I have some Sony smart speakers that work with Google and, from time to time, all of the speakers in the house will display one solid light at the same time.

I checked this article: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7073219?hl=en

...but it doesn't indicate what ONE solid light means.

Anyone have any idea??

Hi jrgreenman,

You're welcome. It would be very best to contact Sony so they can assist you step by step with resetting your speakers. There might be also some settings on their end that you need to configure so it's best to have a guidance from their team.

Hey jrgreenman,

Thanks for reaching out. I know how it feels when you're having issues with your device. To confirm, do you have a Google Home/Nest device? What is the specific Google Home/Nest device you have? Also, please share the steps that you've done.

Cheers,

Thanks for the reply, Muddi,

I have a Sony Smart Speaker LF-S50G with Google Assistant Built in (I have 3, actually). There aren't really any steps I'm taking. It's that sometimes (rarely and seemingly randomly) ALL three speakers will show one,  solid LED.

I wonder if it means there's a reminder on my phone or something, but really have no idea. And neither does Sony. 🙂

Thanks for any perspective you can offer.

Hey jrgreenman,

Thanks for the picture. Try asking your device" What's up". While we love to help, we can only assist technical help with Google Home or Google Nest speakers and displays. You can contact Sony support to assist you in resetting your speaker.

Best,

Alex

Oh, sorry Alex. I though this was a community to ask about Google Assistant regardless of which device it was running on. I've been in touch with Sony and they tell me it's not something specific to their smart speaker. It's something that Google Assistant is doing, and they don't know what it means either.

Thanks anyway.
