Hi,
This started happening a few weeks ago and I was unable to play my favorite radio on any of the two google nest minis I have. Other radios play fine.
The radio in question is Antena 3, frequency 100.3, Lisboa, Portugal
https://tunein.com/radio/Antena-3-1003-s24930/
Things tried and failed.
- Playing via voice command, either by "play radio X" or "play radio X frequency fm"
- Requesting to play via voice command on the Google Assistant iOS app to the speakers.
- Casting via TuneIn app on iOS (radio plays fine before casting, after choosing to cast it doesn't play)
- Rebooting device
- Resetting device
Devices firmware is at 1.54.27916.
Can anyone help ?
Please advise.
Thank you,
Pedro

I am using a routine in my Home app on my Android phone, and I cannot make "Antena 3" play from a Hey Google command.
Routine, New Action > Play or control media > Radio > "Antena 3" -- Plays something on Spotify. Since Spotify does not play the radio, this makes no sense.
New Action > Play or control media > Radio > TuneIn "Antena 3" -- "I looked for TuneIn "Antena 3" but it isn't available, or it can't be played right now."
"Antena 3" is not a unique name on TuneIn. I have tried adding "100.3" before the name or after, and it can't play from a routine. I use a routine to play a Portuguese name without involving my mispronouncing it in English.
I tried the https link in a custom command, but "I don't understand." Maybe I should try saying to play or stream the link. "Play (link)" did not work.
I have several issues myself with TuneIn from a "Hey Google" voice prompt. "Play KSOP on TuneIn gets me KSOP-FM, not the AM station that plays classical country." "Play KUAT-FM on TuneIn" announces playing the classical station, but plays the profanity-laden rap station called Jake Radio. These issues don't happen on TuneIn Premium on the app or website.
It simply isn't worth my time to try to sort this mess out. I had no success with your radio station after some number of hours of trying except via the TuneIn app or website. My solution is to use the Google speaker as a Bluetooth device. Say, "Hey Google, Pair." And look for your speaker in your Bluetooth devices and pair it.

Hi,
Thanks for your extensive help.
When you say "I had no success with your radio station after some number of hours of trying except via the TuneIn app or website. " you were able to cast the radio via the tunein app ?
Because that fails for me as well (only that radio, from the ones I usually hear)

Hi Jake,
Yea, I kind of gave up on trying to listening to this specific radio via voice command or casting, it just doesn't work.
When I want to listen to it, I just use the google home as a bluetooth speaker and play from my phone, not the way I wanted it to work but stopped trying to fight the device.
But, the question still remains, why fail only a specific radio ?
Btw, I tested on other devices in other homes (family, friends) and at they're all unable to play this radio.

Just for some closure, a few weeks ago tried to play the same radio again and it is not working flawlessly since then 🙄
Here's to hoping it stays that way.

Hey pedropita,
I am glad to hear the issue has been resolved, and everything is working from here. With the OP no longer needing help, I am going to lock the thread at this time. If you run into any questions from here, please feel free to create a new post.
Best regards,
Jake

Hi,
Could you please provide me with a solution so that I can listen to "CBC Radio One" when I ask it to? It was working up until last week. Cheers.
