Open remote not working

Hi, recently my open remote on Google home app stopped working. The button to activate it shows but it can't connect my my TV. I have restarted my phone, re installed home app, restarted my TV and waited to see if it's temporary but it still can't show connection. I am 100 percent sure it's not cause I'm on a wrong internet connection because I have connected my phone to the ones we have yet no connection. How can I fix this problem?

Hi DracoGX,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I'm sorry to hear that the remote control in the Google Home app stopped working and it isn't able to connect to your TV even when it shows the button to activate it. Help's here!

Hello, I don't know where to look for my Chromecast model as my TV has built-in Chromecast. Also, I use the Google Home remote because I do not have the original remote to my TV (Nokia TV), and as I don't have either Google Home or the physical I can't control anything on the screen.

As for the other steps, I don't have another mobile device, and my mobile device is up to date, as it was one of the first things I checked when it started messing up.

Hi DracoGX

Thanks for your reply!

I understand the inconvenience of not having a virtual remote or physical control for your TV.

Given that your Nokia TV has Chromecast built-in, the difficulty with the virtual remote might be related to the TV's software or settings.

In this case, I'd suggest checking if your TV has the latest software version. If this doesn't resolve the inconvenience, you may need to contact the TV manufacturer for further assistance.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
