Pairing Speakers to create Stereo

Hi I have just purchased a 2nd Google Home Speaker I think it is the 1st generation. I have set it up in the same room as my other speaker of the same type. I have tried following online help for the setup and also videos on youtube. I get no option to pair the speakers in the speaker settings area.

Is this no longer available? Or am I doing something wrong.

It is really annoying listening to music that isnt actually mono and missing sounds that are being played on the 2nd channel.

Have you factory reset both speakers? Are they on the same firmware version?

I have a matched pair of nest speakers, bought together at the same time to make a stereo pair; sometimes they go together easily and other times they don't. Sometimes Google just breaks things for the fun of it.

Thank you. Factory resetting my original speaker has given me the option to pair them both
