Playback Sounds

Please, please, please allow us to turn off 'playback sounds' on Google Home & Nest Hub devices as you do with Chromecast Audio and Speakers.  How hard is it to give us the option to disable even if it's enabled by default?  I really don't need the 2 second delay and ding every time I need to cast to those devices, especially when casting from my home automation platform, Home Assistant.    Other platforms such as Alexa and Sonos does not have this limitation.  Home someone from Google is listening this time.  Please help!

Hello Cathal, I've used that Feedback tool since I made the request back in 2020 and again with support in 2021, no response!  If I knew that these feedback are actually being looked at and acknowledged, I would  feel a lot better, but it seems that these just end up in a black hole and go nowhere. 

This is a simple request and seems very feasible considering it's already implemented in your products!

Apparently we are supposed to be able to turn off the "playback sounds" thru the Google home app but the option doesn't appear in my audio settings:

I want to use this in my newborn's nursery for white noise etc but can't have the obnoxious "playful sound" going off.  Why is this not showing up as an option?  Help!

Thanks for reaching out. I appreciate @Cathal_S for helping. I know how amazing this feature is but turning off the playback sound is not available on the Google Home/Nest devices. We're always looking for ways to improve -- we'll take this as feedback, and we'll gladly pass it along to the team. You can also send feedback using your device by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback." Visit this link for more steps.

 

@azripley: I appreciate you sharing those steps, but that option is only available on Chromecast devices.
