Radio Alarms or Automation Don't Work (UK)

Radio automation on Google Nest seems broken (and has been for over a year). 

Asking to play a radio station works consistently (example "Play BBC Radio 1").  However, media alarms stopped working with it probably over a year ago (playing the alarm sound instead)......I know that's now being retired as a feature (because it never worked?), so I've setup an automation to do the same thing.  It only works about 30% of the time.  I added another thing to the automation to check it was triggering (weather forecast) and that works every morning....it just rarely plays the radio afterwards (just get silence....so worse than the media alarm that didn't work!). 

Asking Google to play the radio works fine every time.

I have factory reset the device

I have factory reset the google home app

I've even bought a new device (2nd gen nest mini to replace the google home mini) and it still doesn't work.

Hi @DrWig 

Just a guess here but in the routine that you added I'm assuming the type of action you added was of the 'Play and control media' type. If it was try removing this and instead add an action of the 'Try adding you own' type with an action of 'Play BBC Radio 1'.

No idea if this will be a bit more reliable but might be worth a try.

I have the odd routine for playing radio stations and always use the actions of 'Try adding your own'  type.

Hi, I have had a daily weekday alarm playing BBC Radio 2 working on a Google Nest Hub through an automation. It has been working fine for several months but stopped working properly two days ago and now just seems to play a random music video from YouTube at the alarm time. So it’s still waking me up, but not in the way I intended!

The starter is at 6:59, it then has an action to set the media volume. There is then a Time adjustment action to delay the start of the next action by 55 seconds and then there is the actual media command to play the radio. I think I had to put in the delay to get it to work. If I just had it playing the radio straight away at the alarm time it didn’t do anything. And weirdly if I have the delay as 1 minute so it should play the radio exactly at 7am, it also doesn’t do anything…
