Same for me. They pushed out an update Aug. 27th now I have 8 speakers that won’t update or connect to my network. Garbage support from Google. I need to switch to Amazon Alexa.

Hi @plum416,

Thanks for posting in the community! I'm sorry to hear your Nest speakers can't update and connect to Wi-Fi. I'd be happy to help!

To gather more information, I’d like to ask the following questions:

  • What are the models of your Nest speakers? Here’s a helpful article about how to identify the model of your device.
  • How long did the devices work before the connectivity issue started?
  • How was the connectivity issue discovered?
  • Did the devices give an audible error?
  • Did the devices eventually start to work again? If yes, did they start to work again by themselves?
  • Have Google Nest speakers ever successfully connected to this network before?
  • Have you recently made any changes to your Wi-Fi setup?
  • What is the firmware version of the affected speaker and your other speaker?

In the meantime, you can check a few things:

  • Ensure your mobile device and Google Home app are up-to-date.
  • Perform a restart on the Nest speakers and your mobile device. For reference, you can check out this article: Reboot Google Nest or Home speaker or display.
  • Update your router's firmware if necessary.
  • Reboot your router by unplugging it for 2 minutes, then plugging it back in.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
