Severe deterioration in sleep routine functionality

IvoJ
Community Member

A while ago I could simply say ‘I’m going to sleep’ and it would set my alarm, start playing sleep sounds, stop after an hour and all was well.

a little later the auto stop was removed (intentionally, was the answer here). No problem I could simply add ‘stop playing after 30 minutes’ to the routine and all was well again.

Then a few weeks ago the sleep timer issue came around that so many on this forum ran into. The ‘stop after an hour’ would no longer work and it would play all night again. Things were not so well. But when I woke up in the middle of the night I could softly yell ‘hey Google, stop’ and it would stop the sleep sounds. Ok-ish. But far from ideal.

So I thought this was the worst it could get but since this week, that middle-of-the-night ‘hey Google stop’ not only stops the sleep sounds, it also cancels the alarm that the sleep routine initiated. Now it has become absolutely useless in the sleep routine.

So in 4 steps we went from something great to something useless. And from what I read here the first two problems have been around for months now…. 🤨
