CopeStarr

Hi,

Issues started today. Every time I day "hey Google, play xxxx" it will day OK and then attempt to play from YouTube music but I then get "Sorry something went wrong".

All other voice commands are fine and can play from phone to device.

Powered off 60secs and back on, bit no change.

Internet is working fine.

Real pain.

Cheers

Hey everyone,

Thanks for bringing this up. I know how annoying it is if something is not working on your devices especially when it comes to playing music on your Google Home and Nest speakers or displays.

This seems to be related to the recent outage that happened with YouTube Music but should be resolved now. Please don't forget to refresh your device by rebooting it. If for some reason you’re still experiencing problems, please update this thread and let us know.

Cheers,

Muddi

So I got in touch with the Google team, and they told me that they have a Youtube outage that has affected YouTube music playback on a lot of devices. They informed me that they are working on it and will try to resolve it within 24 hours and they asked me to enroll for a preview program of sorts which will help them push an update to my Google nest audio and maybe fix the issue. Let see.

Thx for your comment.

Update as of next morning. My Nest Audio appears to be working fine as of now, if you’ve still got the issue, I’d recommend getting in touch with Google Nest Support.

Hey everyone,

This may have been related to the YouTube Outage that happened earlier which should now be resolved.

If you still have the same issue please try rebooting your speakers. If it is still the same, please update the thread and we're glad to assist you further.

All of a sudden my Google Home Mini won't play music.
It answers my questions: What is the time? What is the forecast? What is the exchange rate? - but as soon as I ask it to play music for me, it tells me that it is playing a youtube playlist - followed by Sorry, something went wrong, give it another try.
What is going on, and how can I fix it?
I have disconnected it, rebooted my router, but still no music.

Same here, it's been doing my head in. Asking it to play music and it will confirm ok playing music from YouTube Music then seconds later sorry something went wrong, when you're ready give it another try.

Casting straight from the app is working ok.

I have the same issue. I noticed that the problem comes only on YT Music. If I request playing music from Spotify account, it works well.

When I say 'ok Google play music" it no longer connects and says "there's a problem".  Worked fine yesterday morning, then in the evening I encountered this issue.  Everything is connected.  I can cast to it and it is connected to WiFi. Firmware on the Google Mini is 1.56.313652.  Why all of a sudden not working? Any known issues as of Oct 20th?

I have the same issue, everything worked perfectly yesterday and I can still play music on my phone on YouTube but today all I get is “sorry, something went wrong” when I tell it to play music or a song.
I’ve restarted, rebooted, signed out/signed in, updated, removed the devices and put them back and still nothing.

The same thing happened to me last night, it worked fine in the morning but gave me “Sorry something went wrong” crap last night and today. I’m a premium music member on YouTube.

I have the exact same issue this morning

Same issue using YouTube music this morning.

Cycled wifi, nest mini, closed app, verified everything was on the same accounts and network.

Just suddenly decided to stop working.

I wonder if this is also related to the Google TV/Speakergroup bug.

Either way, frustrating.

i’m having the same issue. My Google Home Max and Google home mini are both working fine however my Nest speaker He’s the only one with this issue. I factory reset it twice, logged out of YouTube premium, and even called Google/YouTube and no one was able to fix it. I believe my issue started yesterday as well

Does Google Tech respond in this forum? Or do we just share our issues to console eachother? 🤷

I have the same firmware. It seems that it's a bug that came with this version. I have  experience the same problems as you.

It seems that it wasn't a good idea to join a preview program.

Google nest mini won't respond to commands anymore and keep saying there was a glitch.... On all other phones connected to the same WiFi network, everything works. It started on Saturday.

Hello to all. Today I have managed to solve the problem

I remember that it's not a first time I had such problem. You can also check if your phone has some kind of problem displaying contents on the Web like displaying a paritialy content. For example I had also problems with applications like booking, best secret, Amazon.... The applications sometimes displayed paritialy content.

So, today I called the Internet provider and ask them to reset and reboot the modem. This procedure is not the same as plugging off the device and turning on again.

After the reboot was done and modem was initiated, the Google nest mini started to work without problems and now answer my commands.

If you encounter such problems I described, contact your isp and let them reset the modem. My speaker didn't work since Saturday....

Let me know if you solved your problem following this procedure. Good luck.
