Sound Detection

BlindBloke
Community Member

I have two indoors cameras, a doorbell and a nest mini.

Ii also have a nest Aware subscription.

I want to use sound detection on my nest mini to monitor snoring.

From my region, UK, I'm struggling to find the options in the home app to enable sound detection and then enable the monitoring.

Can anyone help me out please?

Hi BlindBloke,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand that you would like to use the sound detection on your Nest Mini to monitor snoring. Let's work together to find a solution.

Please do the following steps:

Enable sound detection:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Go to Settings, then Nest Aware, and then Sound Detection.
  3. Under the Sounds section, check the box next to:
  • Smoke alarms
  • Carbon monoxide alarms
  • Glass breaking

You can select the devices that can participate in the sound detection feature. Please do the following:

  1. Go to the Devices section.
  2. Under the sound detection notifications, choose which types of sounds you want to receive notifications for.

Important: This feature is only available to US homes.

We're always looking for improvements; please share your thoughts and experiences and submit them to the feedback form so it can address this concern in future updates.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Regards,

Byron
