Speaker group missing from device list

In the Google home app, the list of devices to pick for assistant functions is not displaying all of my devices.  Additionally, the speaker group I created is not being displayed as a selectable group for assistant functions.

While attempting to troubleshoot another issue, I created a speaker group containing my two devices: a nest hub and a mini.

In the Google home app, I selected the option to create a new routine. For the trigger, I selected the option to have the routine run when an alarm is dismissed.

The app then takes you to a screen displaying available devices to pick from.  You will see that the list contains a group and one speaker.  The list should display three items: nest hub, mini, and the speaker group.

However, it only displays two items as shown below.

Finding this odd, I deleted the speaker group and set it up again.

Now the list of assistant devices shows only the nest hub and the mini; the speaker group that I just created is missing as shown below.

You can see, however, in this screenshot (below) that the speaker group does indeed exist and it contains the two items one would expect to see.

I cleared the cache for the app, went back through this list of steps, and the outcome was the same.

I've noticed a lot of other inconsistencies and odd behavior in the app and with Google Assistant itself.  This is the first time I've had the patience to take screenshots and document what is actually happening.

Hopefully this is enough information for developers to work from; however, if additional information is needed I will be happy to provide that.

Hi David_H,

You should only be allowed to select assistant devices and not speaker groups for triggering a routine when the alarm is dismissed. Not sure why you briefly saw this option?

Can you help me understand the difference between a speaker group and assistant devices?  Because assistant devices can also be used as speakers.

Hi again,

A speaker group is multiple devices, either multiple assistant enabled devices like Nest mini's and Nest Hubs but can also include Chromecast devices.

A routine can only run (assistant feedback) on a single device but audio (radio, news) can be played on a speaker group.

Have a look at the help center link below for more information about speaker groups.

If I have additional questions about groups after reading that, may I post those questions in this thread?  Or should I create a new thread?
