Speakers can't find other speakers or group in a home.

I used to be able to move audio from one speaker to another by saying some version of "move to kitchen speaker" or "play this on bathroom speaker". Lately when I try to, I get this response:

"Sorry, I'm not sure what you wanted to do. You might want to try again."

And when I try to play things on my speaker group I get this:

"Sorry, something went wrong. When you're ready, give it another try."

I can play media on the speaker group just fine from an app and I can tell one speaker to start playing something specific on another speaker. For example to the kitchen speaker I can tell it: "play so-and-so podcast" and it will start playing that from the beginning. However, I used to be able to move already playing media from one to another which was more convenient especially when listening to a long podcast or audiobook.

Anyone know what's going on?

Hi gabemn,

Thanks for reaching out.

Sorry to hear about your experience with your Google Nest speakers. Could you please tell us what speakers are you using? Also, have you tried doing some steps like rebooting the devices as well as your router by unplugging it from the power source for at least a few minutes? Let's go ahead and try that first and after that, try these commands:

Say "OK Google" then:

  • “Transfer to <device name>”

  • "Move the music to <device name>"

  • "Cast to <device name>"

Let me know if this works.

Best,

Princess
