Spotify not playing

I ask Google to play Spotify and it acknowledges and says 'OK, playing Spotify on bedroom pair' but then it's silent! 

Is there an issue with Google and Spotify at the moment?

I have the same issue. Have been using routines to turn on my amp and start spotify on chromecast to play music for years.  That stopped working a few months back but I could still play on nest mini. Made a routine to start on nest mini and transfer/cast to chromecast but now spotify wont play on nest mini either.    Casting from the app works fine but from google assistant it does nothing.

Hello folks,

 

Thanks for bringing this up. I know how it feels when you're having issues playing music on your Google Nest Mini. To confirm, are you able to play music on your Nest Mini when not paired or added in a group? Are you able to play music from different music services like YouTube Music or Pandora? Are you able to listen to a radio station from TuneIn? Does the same issue happen when you use the Google Assistant app on your phone?

 

Let's try these steps below:

 

  1. Move your Nest Mini within 15-20 ft. away from the router to get enough signal from your network.
  2. Reboot your Nest Mini and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.

Thanks both for reply.

I'm able to play Spotify on my phone and then connect to my bedroom speaker and it works as normal then. I tell it to stop after an hour which it does. The only issue is initially getting it to play when I ask it to, it says playing Spotify but then it's just silence. It's not a major issue to initially start it on my phone and then connect to the speaker from devices but obviously there's some issue somewhere. I did reboot the speakers but got same issue.

Thanks for the update. Please unlink and re-link your Spotify account from the Google Home app. Once done, check if you'll have the same issue.

Hi there,

 

To further isolate the issue, please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Nest Mini).

Well I didn't do anything and it's decided to work properly again. I've been away for a couple of days so guess something changed whilst I was away.
